Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Tested By God’s Word”
Text: 1 Samuel 15:26
“But Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being king over Israel.”
“Tested By God’s Word,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. From the moment God announced His choosing of Saul to be king over Israel, Saul was Tested By God’s Word. The test is simple Obey and pass the test; or Disobey and fail the test. Saul’s Obedience in the beginning brought blessing to his life and to Israel. However, his later Disobedience of Rebellion and Stubbornness against God’s Word brought the curse of rejection by God. God’s Patient Love gave Saul chances to “re-test,” but Saul continued to fail the test; continuing his path of rebellion and stubbornness against God’s Word.
Here’s the bottom line: Complete Obedience is required to pass the test; “partial obedience Is Disobedience.
Our Commander Jesus Christ Passed every test of God’s Word.
“Who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,
though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.” (Heb.5:7-8).
He Always Did those things which pleased the Father!
“Then Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” (John 8:28-29).
Joseph also was Tested By God’s Word as a young boy and a man who Obeyed God’s Word.
“He sent a man before them--
Joseph—who was sold as a slave.
They hurt his feet with fetters,
He was laid in irons.
Until the time that his word came to pass,
The word of the LORD tested him.” (Psa.105:17-19).
Listen up Warrior! We are Tested By God’s Word every day, and this test is simple: if you Love Me, Prove It by Obeying My Commands.
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever--
the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” (John 14:15-17).
Our Helper Holy Spirit abides with us forever, growing a passion in our heart to want what God wants - and the power to Do What God Wants us to do! Oooh Rah!
“Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” (Phil.2:12-13).
Be Faithful to keep your Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Dates with your Commander, Growing in His Word; and your Helper Holy Spirit Himself Will Cause you to pass the Test of God’s Word with your Complete Obedience! Ooooh Rah!
