Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Judges 14 & 15)
“The Bait of satan”
Text: Judges 14:1
“Now Samson went down to Timnah, and saw a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines.”
The “Bait of satan,” is on the menu for Breakfast this morning. Our enemy is a liar and deceiver, and customizes his Bait to fit our fleshly appetites. Samson’s appetite was beautiful Philistine women. Oh how the devil dresses up beautifully his package of death and destruction!
Samson took the bait and brought shame upon himself and his Commander by “bringing the enemy into his house;” this unnamed Philistine woman.
Listen up Warrior! Your enemy knows your appetites. This is why we maintain a growing spiritual appetite for our Commander, His Word, and His Will. He is Perfect, His Word is Perfect, and His Will is Perfect. The more we Know Him the more we WANT to know Him MORE. We have little appetite for the fleshly things of this world, because we know they are passing away....
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” (1John 2:15-17).
As long as we are in this body of flesh there will be a fleshly appetite to deal with. This is why we keep our body in subjection to our spirit:
“But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.”(1Corin.9:27).
We know that we have an adversary, just like Samson did, who is always looking for a moment of weakness to attack:
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.” (1 Pet.5:8-9).
The Bait of satan is around us to test our Faith and to strengthen our resolve to Grow our spiritual appetite for our Commander, His Word, and His Will. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner; every day! Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
