Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“The Blessing of a Father’s Correction.”
Text: 1Samuel 3:13
“For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knows, because his sons made themselves vile, and he did not restrain them.”
“The Blessing of a Father’s Correction” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
Our Father’s Love is Within Our Father’s Correction. Everything our Father Does He Does In Pure Love. Remember this Warrior!
Eli as the High Priest of Israel and father of Hophni and Phinehas; refused to Bless Israel and his own house with Godly Correction; choosing to indulge their lawlessness and not restraining them.
Eli’s house was not in order so Israel was also not in order; and that’s why there was “no widespread revelation of God in the land.”(1Sam.3:1)
Because God loves us as Our Father, He Blesses you and I His sons and daughters with His Correction. That’s how He keeps you and I on the Pathway of Holiness, following Him as Sheep follow their Shepherd, and children and Warriors follow and imitate their Father and Commander!
David said this well:
“Before I was afflicted I went astray,
But now I keep Your word.”
“It is good for me that I have been afflicted,
That I may learn Your statutes.”
“I know, O LORD, that Your judgments are right,
And that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.”
(Psalm 119:67, 71, 75).
Paul “reminds” you and I of the Blessing of a Father’s Correction in Hebrews 12:5-11:
“And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:
“My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
For whom the LORD loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”
If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?
But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.
Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?
For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.
Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”
By “resisting” the Blessing of the Father’s Correction and Not Repenting (1Sam.2:29), Eli honored his sons more than he honored God. He made himself “illegitimate,” and his house “illegitimate “ also.
Listen up Warrior! Receive the Blessing of our Father’s Correction as His Warrior, and honor Him with your Repentance. As we honor Him with Repentance He honors you and I as His son and daughter with forgiveness and affirmation as His son and daughter.
Let’s take a Lesson from Eli my fellow Warrior. Do not withhold the Blessing of our Father’s Correction from your house; take heed to this principle, continue in it, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
“Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.
Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.”(1Tim.4:15-16).
Listen up Warrior! Receive and Release The Blessing of Our Father’s Correction! Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
Jesus and Billy
