Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“The Blessing of God”
Text: Numbers 6:23-26
“Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them:
“The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.” ’
“ The Blessing of God,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
This was called the “The Priestly Blessing” which the priest pronounced over Israel at the conclusion of the morning sacrifice, at the closing of teaching in the Synagogue, and on special occasions like one making a Nazarite vow before God!
It’s important for you and I to know that God reserves His Blessing for the Righteous not the Unrighteous. Make no mistake of this Warrior. God sets the unrighteous ‘outside the camp’ of the righteous; until they are cleansed by their confession and repentance. Then they can walk in the Blessing of God.
The Blessing of God is pronounced over our life as Righteous Warriors of God by our High Priest and Commander Jesus Christ! Oooh Rah!
God enjoys blessing those who Love, Trust, and Obey Him.
Did you notice the name of LORD is spoken three times in our text?
As I read these words I was reminded by Paul’s final benediction to the Corinthian Church where he answers this question of why the LORD is spoken three times:
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.”(2Corin.13:14).
Reading our text together with Paul’s benediction we can see The Blessing for the Child of God could be understood as:
“The LORD Father God bless you and keep you….
The LORD Son of God make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you…
The LORD Holy Spirit lift up His Countenance upon you and give you peace…”
And the word “You” is spoken six times. After every “LORD; “You” is spoken twice for emphasis!
This Blessing of God for the Faithful Warrior is for YOU and I today!
Every time we meet with Jesus for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner we look into the mirror of His Word and respond with confession and repentance of our sin - and He closes our time together with this Blessing from our Father, His Son, and Holy Spirit. Oh Hallelujah! What a thrill it is to abide in the camp with our Commander Jesus Christ and have His Blessing flowing through our surrendered life as His branch! Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
Jesus and Billy
