Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Judges 9:1 - 10:5)
“The Certainty of God’s Judgement”
Text: Judges 9:56-57
“Thus God repaid the wickedness of Abimelech, which he had done to his father by killing his seventy brothers.
And all the evil of the men of Shechem God returned on their own heads, and on them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal.”
“The Certainty of God’s Judgement,” is on the menu for Breakfast this morning.
Jotham warned Abimelech and his conspirators that there was a price to be paid for their murders of Gideon’s sons in (v.19 & 20). The Certainty of God’s Judgement is for a time and a manner prescribed by Him.
Yes, there is compensation and a “pay day” for sin:
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”(Rom.6:23).
As He warned the Galatian Church, so he warns mankind today:
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” (Gal.6:7-9).
After 3 years the “due season” arrived and God’s judgement was fully executed upon the elders and people of Shechem, and Abimelech.
In “due season,” God’s Time and In God’s Way, we will Reap What We Sow; Blessing or Judgement.
The Faithful Warrior sows Obedience to the Spirit of God and Reaps the Blessings of walking in Fellowship with God.(1John1:7). When Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, We Obey by confessing our sin, and repenting of our sin:
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”(1John 1:9).
Listen up Warrior! God forgives and forgets the sin we confess and repent of - and He remembers the sin we “excuse ourself of,” by self-justification.
There IS NO EXCUSE, and Self-Justification is REBELLION, which is another sin!
Holy Spirit is Right and I’m Wrong! It’s as simple as that.
The Faithful Warrior remains Faithful by Rehearsing and Remembering The Certainty of God’s Judgement. Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
Jesus and Billy
