Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
"The Cords of Love that Draw Us To God."
"And the people blessed all the men who willingly offered themselves to dwell at Jerusalem."
What causes a person to "willingly offer themself to God." It is The Cords of Love That Draw Us To God (Hosea 11:4). This is the picture Hosea gives us of our King and Commander Jesus. This is what caused the rulers, priests, and VOLUNTEERS, to "willingly offer themselves to dwell in Jerusalem at this time.
It was a very dangerous hour for Israel! The survival of their nation among relentless enemies awakened the national spirit and these patriots stepped up to dwell in the capital city to defend and develop their nation. And God's Love fueled this choice. God's Love for them and their Love for their King!
This is what "drew" our King out of Heaven, to Live among His Creation mankind - among the relentless rebels who tried to kill Him as soon as He was born. The common people rejoiced but the wicked were furious and tried to kill Him.
Our King made this choice Because the Cords of Love that bound Him to mankind "could not be broken" by the sin of Adam and Eve, or you and I. This Love is relentless; it led Him from Heaven to earth to live among us, perfectly, as a baby, toddler, teenager, and a young man. And today, He still dwells in us and around us - continually, because the Cords that lead Him are the same Cords that lead us: Himself, He Is Love Perfected (1John 4:8).
This is why the Warrior lays down their life for their King and Commander - because He died in our place and conquered death, hell, and the grave forever! Ooooh Rah!
