Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Leviticus 12:1 - 13:23)
“The Corruption of sin”
Text: Leviticus 13:3
“The priest shall examine the sore on the skin of the body; and if the hair on the sore has turned white, and the sore appears to be deeper than the skin of his body, it is a leprous sore. Then the priest shall examine him, and pronounce him unclean.”
The Corruption of sin,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
Physical leprosy corrupts the body like spiritual leprosy corrupts the spiritual body; this makes leprosy a good biblical type of sin.
Like sin, leprosy can effect any person, rich or poor. Naaman was the leader of Syria’s army but he was a leper (2Kings 5:1-19); and the ten lepers were common men (Luke 17:11-19).
The effects of leprosy imitate the effects of sin. It’s painless because it numbs the body, it’s difficult to detect, if not treated early it spreads corruption throughout the body, eventually destroying the body.
When a leprosy was suspected the person went to the priest to be examined by him; and if the priest found leprosy the person was pronounced unclean. There was no physical cure for leprosy at this time, only God could cure this fatal disease. He healed Naaman through His Prophet Elisha, and He healed the ten lepers through His Son Jesus Christ our Commander.
Our lesson this morning is a warning to practice regular self-examination to see if we have any trace of spiritual leprosy in our heart.
We need to present ourselves for inspection to our High Priest and Commander Jesus Christ each day; morning, noon, and evening as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable unto God (Rom.12:1); and ask Him to “examine our heart “ and see if there is any trace of leprosy.(Psalm 139:23-24).
If there is, we respond immediately with confession and repentance and we are cured with the blood of our Commander Jesus Christ and cleansed of our leprosy (1John 1:9).
Please hear me Warrior! Don’t allow the leprosy of sin to spread with unconfessed sin in your heart. It will eat up your heart like leprosy eats up the body; and destroy you.
Don’t ever give the devil a foothold in your heart! (Eph.4:27)
Take heed to your rules of engagement with this enemy of sin! “Kill and Destroy upon contact by your confession and repentance!
Always be on guard against The Corruption of sin! Oooooh Rah!
