Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“The Fall of a Warrior”
Text: Genesis 3:6
“So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.”
The Tragedy of “The Fall of a Warrior,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
Adam and Eve set the pattern for the Fall of a Warrior.
Adam let his wife have a discussion with the devil instead of giving the devil the sword of God’s Word!
The Discussion leads to these three steps: Lust of the Flesh (“it was good for food”)
Then Lust of the Eye (“it was pleasant to the eyes”)
Then Pride of Life (“it was desired to make one wise”).
These are the three steps that snare a Warrior:
“For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.” (1John 2:16).
The Warrior doesn’t have a discussion with their spiritual enemy, they kill the enemy’s lie with the Truth of God’s Word! Ooooh Rah!
Adam and Eve show us What Not To Do -
But our Commander Jesus Christ shows you and I What To Do:
“Kill the enemy’s lie with the Truth of God’s Word.”
“Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
(Lust of the Flesh)
But He answered and said, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple,
and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:
He shall give His angels charge over you,’
In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ”
(Lust of the Eye)
Jesus said to him, “It is written again, You shall not tempt the LORD your God.’ ”
Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
(Pride of Life)
Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”
Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.”(Matt.4:3-11).
