Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(1 Kings 2)
“The Final Words of a Father”
Text: 1Kings 2:3-4
“And keep the charge of the LORD your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn;
that the LORD may fulfill His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul,’ He said, you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’”
“The Final Words of a Father” are on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
These last words of King David to his son Solomon were “to walk before God in Truth with all his heart and with all his soul, so that Solomon would prosper in all he did and wherever he turned.
Walking Before God, In His Ways Faithfully, Will Bring Spiritual Prosperity and Blessing upon our life; but this Promise from God is Conditional upon our Obedience. We Must Walk Before God In Obedience.
God’s Promise to David was conditional upon David’s Obedience and these Final Words of a Father to his son were also conditional upon Solomon’s Obedience.
Solomon could not Inherit this Promise from his father David - Solomon had to Walk Before God Obediently Himself, as his father King David did.
By David’s Lifestyle of Repentance as a man after God’s heart, he showed Solomon how God blesses those who walk before Him humbly and obediently In His Ways.
Now, King David is telling you and I today also, that our destiny is not determined by our ancestors, but by our current relationship with God.
Our Heavenly Father’s Words To You and I this morning are “Walk Before Me, In All My Ways, Love Me Supremely and Love Your Fellow Man Equally, (Luke 10:27) and you will live and prosper even as your soul prospers In Me.”
Warrior at your side,
