Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(2 Samuel 13)
“The Harvest from sin”
Text: 2 Samuel 13:1
“After this Absalom the son of David had a lovely sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.”
“The Harvest from sin,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. The great tragedy of sin is that there is “a price to be paid and a harvest to be received,” from the act of sin. And this affects others who were not a part of our sin! In this matter David’s sin affected his sons Amnon and Absalom, and his daughter Tamar. Amnon raped his sister and Absalom murdered his brother Amnon.
Our grief from sin extends beyond our godly sorrow that brought repentance and God’s forgiveness - it extends to the grief and sorrow of The Harvest from sin.
This harvest from sin, like any failure, is an event not a destination. It’s meant to be a lesson learned that sin will be a constant threat to our life on earth; like a proaring lion prowling around us looking to devour us in lust and pride. This is the reality the Warrior lives in.
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.”(1 Pet.5:8-9).
The Bible teaches us that sin will always be at the door of your heart desiring you - but You Should Rule Over It! Resist It! God told Cain:
“If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”(Gen.4:7).
Listen up Warrior, and Beware; the Harvest from sin affects your life and the lives of those you lead! You have the Helper Holy Spirit in you and around you to keep you on the footsteps of your Commander. Make Him your Friend and Constant Companion; talking and listening to Him, and obeying Him, and You Will Rule Over Sin! Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
