Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Exodus 27:20 - 28:14)
“The Light That Never Goes Out”
Text: Exodus 27:20
“And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually.”
“The Light that Never goes out,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
The Lamps of the Lampstand in the Tabernacle were to burn continually because they were the only Source of Light for the Tabernacle. The only way they could burn continually is to have a continual source of Pressed Olive Oil - and to have the wicks trimmed and cared for by the priests.
The Lamp needed a Wick continually soaked in Olive Oil and Daily Care of the Wick.
The Olive Oil represents Holy Spirit and the Wick represents the Word of God. This is the Only Source of Light For The Warrior! Oooooh Rah!
The 10 virgins of Matt.25:1-13, show us the need for Oil for our Lamp and Care for the Wick; as we’re Waiting for our Bridegroom to come for us. When the Bridegroom came the 5 wise had a reserve of oil, and trimmed their lamps, but the 5 foolish did not and missed the Bridegroom!
As Warrior’s we cannot complete our Primary Mission of Loving God Supremely and our fellow man equally Without Our Lamp Burning Continually! Our Life is Our Lamp. We are to Be the Light of the World.(Matt.5:14-16).
We have a continual Source of Oil with Holy Spirit, our Helper in us (John 14:15-17).
However we must Daily Trim the Wick of God’s Word burning in our life continually....
Normally we trim a candles wick by blowing it out and letting it cool first. Then we trim the charred portion at the top of the wick evenly about 1/4”.
How do we trim a burning wick!
God showed me how to see the Wick as the Word of God and the Oil as Holy Spirit; Both working together in me as a Lamp.
The charred portion at the top of the wick is caused when we begin to slide into a comfort zone of ‘familiarity’ using a few scriptures casually for common situations. Then Holy Spirit helps us “trim our wick,” by allowing troubles to move us out of our comfort zone, and driving us to our knees in prayer! Our casual and common use of the Word of God is replaced by a healthy appetite for His Word, and a passion to grow deeper and closer to our King! Now our Lamp burns brilliantly in the furnace of affliction.
This is how we trim and care for our Wick, and handle the Word of God with Love; carefully and reverently.
Our Commander Jesus Christ is the Light That Never Goes Out!
In the words of my Romanian Hero and friend Vanya Moiseyev:
“Let Christ’s Love in my heart shine
As the Lighthouse beacon glows
That friends and foes alike may know
How Great Is Christ Jesus’ Love”
Let His Light Never Go Out In Your Life, Warrior! Oooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
