Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(1 Chronicles 21)
“The Lord Tests The Heart”
Text: 1 Chronicles 21:2
“So David said to Joab and to the leaders of the people, “Go, number Israel from Beersheba to Dan, and bring the number of them to me that I may know it.”
“The Lord Tests The Heart,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
God knows what’s in our heart, and He Tests You and I in order to Show Us What the Motives are in our heart!
The Lord is Testing the Motive of King David’s heart by allowing satan to tempt him to number the Warriors of Israel and Judah.
Is his motive based on:
Pride in himself as the Owner of the Warrior’s of Israel and Judah - or
Service to God as a Steward of God’s Ownership of Israel?
What’s David’s Motive; Pride or Service?
The Scripture shows us that satan, the king of pride, moved David with Pride to number Israel and Judah’s Warrior’s.
To his credit, David was quick to repent of this foolishness (v.8) and take personal responsibility for the “harvest” of this sin (v.17).
He built an altar and offered his burnt offering as atonement for the sin, and his peace offering for restoration of fellowship with God.
Aaaaah Yes, David’s Shepherd Heart of Repentance turned his sin into a place of Worship to God for His Grace and Mercy! Ooooh Rah!
Listen up Warrior! The Word of God Tests Our Heart Every Day!
It Reveals the Motives of our Heart; “…the thoughts and intents of our heart:
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”(Heb.4:12).
When Holy Spirit’s Conviction lands in your heart - CONFESS and REPENT and TAKE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for the Harvest of Your sin.
Then Offer Up the burnt offering that was Provided by your Commander Jesus Christ,
And the Peace Offering Also Provided by your Commander Jesus Christ, Our PeaceMaker! Now Celebrate your Fellowship with your Commander; and Do Justice, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly With Your God! Ooooh Rah!
