Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(1 Samuel 14)
“The Lord’s Armor Bearer”
Text: 1 Samuel 14:6-7
“Then Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, “Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the LORD will work for us. For nothing restrains the LORD from saving by many or by few.”
So his armorbearer said to him, “Do all that is in your heart. Go then; here I am with you, according to your heart.”
“The Lord’s Armor bearer” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
The Armor bearer was responsible for the life of his master. He carried the armor and weapons of his master; that’s why they are called the Armor bearer.
The Warrior is the Lord’s Armor Bearer; we carry the Armor and Weapons of our Master and Commander Jesus Christ; His Presence and His Word! Ooooh Rah!
This morning we see a sharp contrast between Saul’s Armorbearer and Jonathan’s Armorbearer. In this desperate hour Saul is sitting under a tree trembling, and so is his Armorbearer.
His son Jonathan and his Armorbearer are “remembering and rehearsing” God’s Acts of Greatness; saying “…. Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the LORD will work for us. For nothing restrains the LORD from saving by many or by few.”
Saul is sitting under a tree Tremblng - And his son Jonathan is attacking the Philistines! And nobody knew this except Jonathan and his Armorbearer! It was between Jonathan and his Armorbearer Alone!
Hear what Jonathan’s Armor bearer said to his Master:
“Do all that is in your heart. Go then; here I am with you, according to your heart.” Oooooh Rah!
And together they struck the enemy garrison and lit up all the Philistine army - and God “melted away the enemy in terror and confusion with an awesome earthquake!”(v.15,16)
Listen up Warrior! This is a picture of you and I today, as The Lord’s Armor bearer! With the world trembling in fear, doubt, and unbelief, sitting under a tree of chaos -
The Lord’s Armor bearer is hearing their Master and Commander Jesus Christ whispering:
“Come, let us go over to these people who are lost in fear, doubt and unbelief, and watch Me work wonders of Salvation and Deliverance in their lives - Nothing Can Restrain Me! I can Save by many or through you alone.”
“What do you say, Warrior?”
The Lord’s Warrior says:
“Do all that is in your heart God!Go with me; here I am with You, according to Your heart.” Oooooh Rah!
It wasn’t Jonathan that had to work with some help from God; it was the Lord that was to work by Jonathan!
That’s how it is with you and I. We are the Lord’s Armor bearer. As the disciples of Christ, so are we as Warrior’s of the Kingdom of God:
“And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen!” (Mark 16:20).
Stand fast Warrior and Stay the Course - You Are The Lord’s Armor Bearer! Oooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
Jesus and Billy
