Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Deuteronomy 17:1 - 18:8)
“The Map For A Righteous Life”
Text: Deuteronomy 17:18-20
“Also it shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book, from the one before the priests, the Levites.
And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the LORD his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes,
that his heart may not be lifted above his brethren, that he may not turn aside from the commandment to the right hand or to the left, and that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children in the midst of Israel.”
The Bible is “The Map For a Righteous Life,” and that’s what’s on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
God summarized the three principles of balanced life for kings to live by with this command: To write a personal copy of the Law in a Book, and keep it with him as his constant companion.
The Law was to be “The Map For a Righteous Life,” for the king. The “Map” he would read every day, follow the “directions and rules,” and apply it to his personal life and decisions for Israel.
As Warriors of God we are a Royal Priesthood; Leaders and Representatives of the Kingdom of God.
Our Commander Jesus Christ IS the Law of Grace and Mercy, and He has put His laws into our hearts and written them in our mind.
“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” (Heb.10:16).
God has given you and I His Word, the Bible, to be with you and I as our constant Companion. By daily meeting with our Commander, reading, meditating, and applying His Word in our life and decisions will keep us from sin.
It’s been said that the Bible will keep us from sin, and sin will keep us from the Bible.
Following the “Map” of the Bible will keep the Warrior humble, as they practice justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with their God. This is what Our Commander requires from His Warriors:
“He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the LORD require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)
Keep Following Your Commander Jesus Christ; He shows you the Way, He shows you the Truth, and He shows you the Life of a Righteous Warrior. Our Commander is The Map of A Righteous Life! Keep Following Him Home! Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
