Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“The Perfect Sacrifice”
Text: Leviticus 22:21
“And whoever offers a sacrifice of a peace offering to the LORD, to fulfill his vow, or a freewill offering from the cattle or the sheep, it must be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no defect in it.”
“The Perfect Sacrifice,” is what’s on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
The Peace Offering to the Lord had to be Perfect and it had to be given from the person’s free will.
What a clear picture this is of our Commander Jesus Christ the Perfect Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).
Our sin debt could Only be paid with a Perfect Sacrifice of a Perfect Human Being. There was no perfect human being until Jesus came, walked among us, laid His life down on the Cross and paid our sin debt.
In other words, you and I were doomed forever without Jesus, The Perfect Sacrifice. (Rom.3:23; 6:23; 5:8; 10:9-10).
We can add nothing to this Perfect Sacrifice, we can only receive it and surrender to it!
You and I Live today and forever because of The Perfect Sacrifice. His Perfect Sacrifice has made you and I perfect by our Faith and Trust in Him:
“For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.”(Heb.10:14).
Day Four of Passion Week:
“The Last Supper”
Jesus sends Peter and John to prepare the upper room for what will be His Last Supper with His disciples. Later this evening He shares the Passover feast with them saying:
“Then He said to them, “With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;
for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”(Luke 22:15-16).
As the Lamb of God, Jesus is about to fulfill the meaning of Passover by giving His body to be broken and His blood to be shed as The Perfect Sacrifice paying our sin debt. He shares Communion with His disciples instructing them to remember His sacrifice by sharing communion together. (Luke 22:19-20).
They will leave for Gethsemane where Jesus would pray fervently, be betrayed by Judas, arrested and taken to the high priest; and abandoned by all His disciples, except John.
THEME FOR THIS DAY:
“The Greatest Love”
Jesus demonstrates The Greatest Love today by laying down His life for His friends. He commands His disciples, and you and I, to live each other as He loves each of them.
“Oh LORD, thank You for being The Perfect Sacrifice for me, suffering and dying for me. I live only because You suffered and died, and rose from the dead so I could live forever with You. Help me Jesus, to tell the Great Story of Your Great Love for me and others. Oh how I Love You Lord - Help me to Love You More Every Day! In Jesus mighty name I pray, AMEN!”
