Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Leviticus 4:27 - 5:13
“The sin offering for unintentional sin”
Text: Leviticus 4:27-28
“If anyone of the common people sins unintentionally by doing something against any of the commandments of the LORD in anything which ought not to be done, and is guilty,
or if his sin which he has committed comes to his knowledge, then he shall bring as his offering a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has committed.”
“The sin offering for unintentional sin,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
The law of Moses made a distinction of sin as either intentional or unintentional. There was a sin offering for unintentional sin, but no remedy but death for intentional sin.
Intentional sin was committed knowingly out of rebellion, while unintentional sin was committed by a person whose life was lived in general obedience and surrender to God. In other words unintentional sin was the result of human frailty.
Paul spoke about this in his letter to the Romans summarizing his battle with his flesh:
“O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?
I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Rom.7:24-8:2).
Oh Hallelujah! Our Commander and King Jesus Christ is our sin offering; and our Helper Holy Spirit Convicts us of sin, Brings us to confession and repentance, and Empowers you and I to “Walk according to the Spirit, instead of according to the flesh.”
Holy Spirit reminds you and I how to deal with our flesh:
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”(Gal.2:20).
So when we are made aware of any sin we respond immediately with the Sword of God’s Word
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1John 1:9). That’s Walking according to the Spirit of Life! And that’s the walk of the Faithful Warrior! Oooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
