Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Judges 10:6 - 11:28)
“The Teacher of Affliction”
Text: Judges 11:8
“And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, “That is why we have turned again to you now, that you may go with us and fight against the people of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.”
“The Teacher of Affliction,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. Israel has once again sat before “The Teacher of Affliction,” the Ammonites; and turned to God for forgiveness and deliverance from this affliction. After “His soul could no longer endure the misery of Israel,” (Judges 10:16), God forgave them and sent the elders to get Jephthah (Judges 11:5). Jephthah has been rejected by his family as God was rejected by Israel; and spent some time “in the classroom of The Teacher of Affliction himself.”
Our Commander forms His Greatest Servant Leaders in the classroom of Affliction. Our Commander and King Jesus Christ Himself: “though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.” (Heb.5:8). So it is for us as Warriors of God:
“It is good for me that I have been afflicted,
That I may learn Your statutes.” (Psa.119:71) Part of the training of every Warrior is chastening.
“Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” (Heb.12:11). Like Israel, Warriors are trained by the Teacher of Affliction to obey their Commander.
Listen up Warrior! Let us learned these lessons well so that we may lead others well, as our Commander and King leads us! Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
