Good Morning Marines and Warriors!
Word for the Day:
“The Test of Loyalty”
“However, regarding the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, whom they sent to him to inquire about the wonder that was done in the land, God withdrew from him, in order to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart.”
Our Breakfast this morning shows us the Test of Loyalty hidden in times of Prosperity.
Hezekiah proved Himself to be Loyal to God, and dependent upon God in times of war and the destruction of idolatry - yet after much prosperity his heart “became lifted up” in self pride. Babylon’s ambassadors asked him for an explanation for the miraculous defeat of their enemy Assyria, and the turning back of the sun! And Hezekiah “showed them all his wealth,” not mentioning his God Who was the Source behind the wealth.
Hezekiah was proud of his wealth more than he was proud of his holiness to God.
His heart was tested and found to be disloyal.
Listen up Warrior! When left to ourselves, our heart is desperately wicked and deceitful in all things; only God can know it (Jer.17:9-10).
God tested Hezekiah and He tests you and I, to see what is in our heart.
This is why we guard our new heart of flesh, and our new spirit that Our Commander Jesus gave us (Ezek.36:26).
We guard our heart at all times (Prov.4:23), being always ready to “give a reason for the Hope that is in us, that is working miracles, peace, and prosperity in our life 1Pet.3:15).
We are reminded of our constant dependence upon God every time we share “the reason for our Hope,” our “personal testimony” of
How we used to be -
How we surrendered to Jesus -
And What God is doing in our life now.
We Rehearse What We Remember -
We Remember What We Rehearse!
This will keep “a proud heart” far from us.”
Let our glory be in the cross that we share with You, our King and Commander.
You died so we could live -
We died to ourself so we could live for You!” Ooooh Rah!
