Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“The Test of Obedience”
Text: Exodus 16:4
“Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My law or not.”
“The Test of Obedience,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
God has Israel in “the Classroom of the Wilderness,” where He is teaching them how to live as “free people,” instead of slaves.
The Red Sea, the bitter waters of Marah, and now food in the wilderness.
God Parted the Red Sea, made the bitter waters sweet, and now promises to “rain down bread from heaven.”
The miracle of bread from heaven came with the instruction to gather a certain quota each day for each person in their house for 5 days; and on the 6th day to gather twice the quota so they could rest on the 7th day of the Sabbath.
This was Test of Obedience, to Trust God to provide food each day. Israel failed this test by “holding back food as a store for tomorrow,” and the food produced worms and stank! Then some people went out on the morning of the Sabbath to gather food and there was none to gather.
They failed the Test of Obedience! But God was not finished with Israel. The Classroom is still in session. With His correction for their failure, there are more “tests” of Obedience ahead for Israel.
Listen up Warrior! We are in God’s Classroom in the Wilderness of this world. Every day we are tested. Each day God presents us with bread from heaven, His Word, the Bread of Life - Jesus Himself! (John 6:48-51).
We are instructed to “gather It every day” for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner; eat It, meditate upon It, and apply It to our life with Obedience.
It’s not enough to Know The Word of God, we must Obey and Practice the Word of God in our daily life.
Knowing the Word and Not Obeying the Word is like facing the enemy with a Loaded Weapon (the Word of God), and Not Pulling The Trigger of Faith and Obedience!
The enemy walks all over us!
However, As we consistently “pull the trigger of Faith and Obedience” using the Word of God, we will grow more in the Grace and Knowledge of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior! (2Peter 3:18).
Take Courage Warrior! If you fail one Test of Obedience, confess and repent, take the correction and learn from it; He will Allow you to take the Test of Obedience Again! Oooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
