Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(1Kings 15:33 - 16:34)
“The Tragedy of Unrepentant Man”
Text: 1Kings 16:30
“Now Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD, more than all who were before him.”
“The Tragedy of Unrepentant Man is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. This tragedy not only falls upon the unrepentant sinner, but also it falls on those they lead; families or a nation! This tragedy can be averted with a simple act of humble confession of sin, sincere godly sorrow and hatred of sin, and sincere repentance. Ahab’s wickedness exceeded all the wicked kings before him, and caused the nation of Israel to suffer greatly under the curse of rebellion against God.
In Contrast, King Asa ruled over Judah in the fear of God for 41 years and Judah was blessed. During King Asa’s reign 7 kings ruled over Israel, and chaos, assassinations, and unbridled idolatry caused misery in Israel.
Our Righteousness and our sin affects not only our self, it affects others and our seed.
The lesson from Ahab is that succeeding wicked rulers grow more wicked than their predecessors. The unrepentant sinner grows more wicked, adding more of God’s wrath upon themself, as they continue to practice lawlessness. Let’s learn from this lesson our self, and warn those who are practicing a sinful lifestyle today. This tragedy Can Be Averted by Repentance! Why Should We Delay When Restoration and Blessing Are Waiting For Our Repentance?
