Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“The Way of Holiness”
Text: Lev. 22:31
“Therefore you shall keep My commandments, and perform them: I am the LORD.”
The Way of Holiness is travelled by Obedience to God and His Commandments. That’s what’s on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
The conduct and offerings the Priest presented to God must be holy - because God is Holy.
Our best efforts in our own strength are unacceptable to God. Our best efforts to be holy are ‘imperfect conduct and offerings;’ and that is sin before God.
How can we walk in this Way of Holiness? By Practicing Obedience to His Commandments. When we Love Him supremely we do His Commandments (John 14:15). We do this by His Grace and through our Faith. We don’t have ‘confidence in our works of the flesh,’ (Phil.3:3), or anything we could do in our own strength. Our only confidence is in Our Commander Jesus, “For by one offering He has Perfected forever those who are being sanctified.” (Heb.10:14). In other words, our conduct and offering presented to God is made perfect by His Conduct and Offering of Himself. We practice Obedience by continuing to Depend by Faith
upon His work of Grace alone, for our perfection(Col.1:19-23). As the song says:
“It’s not by works of righteousness,
But by His Blood Alone.
That I am complete in Him!”
If we sin by disobedience, by trusting in our way instead of His way - we Obey by confession and repentance, (1John 1:9), and return to God with a greater resolve to perfect holiness in the fear of God (2Corin.7:1).
Our Commander’s Perfect Love for us (His Grace), and our supreme Love for Him (our Faith and Obedience) is how the Warrior walks with their Commander on “The Way of Holiness.” Ooooh Rah!
