Good Morning Warrior!
Happy Sunday; This Is The Lord's Day! Hooray!
Word for the Day:
"The Why's of the Wise"
Text: Deut. 29:29
"The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law."
"The Why's of the Wise," is on our menu for Breakfast, this Sunday Morning. As I read and chewed on the verses of this Chapter, I was reflecting on the many "dangers, toils, and snares," and chaos that God has brought me through - like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Israel. I remembered the times I asked God "Why," do I have to go through this - "Why" are You letting this happen to me - "Why" do bad things happen to good people? Many times God would say "Follow Me, Love Me, and Trust Me;" and that was not the answer that I was looking for.
Like my Mom's answer as a little boy saying Why: Mom would say "because I said so, and I'm your Mother!" Or my Dad saying "Billy you need to Trust me on this, I'm your father and I know what's good for you."
As Warriors, we've all probably asked Our Commander "Why" more than a few times. However, 'seasoned' Warriors have learned from their experience of Trusting their Commander; and gained a heart of wisdom: "So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom." (Psa.90:12). In other words Our Why's have become; The Why's of the Wise!
These "Why's are the Secret things that Belong To God. They belong to God not you and I. These Secret things are in our life experience as "teachers," instructing us to Trust in the Character of Goodness of our Commander, and Proving our Love for Him; by following Him through all the stuff of life. Learning from this 'instruction,' we gain a heart of wisdom; and our Why's become The Why's Of the Wise.
Scriptures answer most of our questions, but we have to prayerfully read and search diligently for this; which is a good thing. We grow and mature from spending time in God's Word. However, there will also be "Why's" that are Secret things that belong to God alone; and He will remind us of these Secret things when we get 'home,' and we'll be so glad that we Trusted Him and Proved our Love for Him, even when we didn't understand why. Ooooh Rah!
