Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“There Is Hope In Christ”
Text: Ezra 10:2
“And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, spoke up and said to Ezra, “We have trespassed against our God, and have taken pagan wives from the peoples of the land; yet now there is hope in Israel in spite of this.”
The Wonderful and Unchanging Truth that “There is Hope In Christ,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
Shechaniah speaks up for himself and his nation that they have sinned against God; “yet now there is hope in Israel in spite of this.”
Can you hear this confession from the heart of this broken and humble man? I can.
There is Hope for each and all of us in this world; and this is the Living Hope of Jesus Christ; His Love and Mercy for you and I. For the most wicked and vile sinner to the most seasoned Warrior - there is Hope in Christ for His Love and Mercy to forgive our sin and restore our relationship with Him as His daughter or His son.
Each and all of us in this world has our name written in this Hope; each of us is the “whosoever” in John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
We all have this Hope “available” to us but we must “ask” for it; by Confessing our sin like Shechaniah did, “I have sinned against God.”
After confession we receive God’s forgiveness and mercy. However it does not end there. The Action of godly and sincere repentance must follow. This is the demonstration of our turning away from sin, and our resolve to follow the Model of our Commander and Savior Jesus Christ. We give our life to the One Who gave us Life - Our Living Hope.
This repentance was demonstrated by Shechaniah and Israel by making a covenant with God to obey His Law and by separating themselves from ungodly spouses. This separation did not separate these men from their moral responsibility to provide for the necessities of these pagan women and children.
Yes, There Is Hope In Christ available for all of mankind; but each of us must Ask for this Hope by confession, and turn away from ungodliness to follow and obey Our Hope, Jesus Christ. Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
