Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(1 Chronicles 6)
“Turning a Curse into a Blessing”
Text: 1 Chronicles 6:48,49)
“And their brethren, the Levites, were appointed to every kind of service of the tabernacle of the house of God.
But Aaron and his sons offered sacrifices on the altar of burnt offering and on the altar of incense, for all the work of the Most Holy Place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.”
“Turning a Curse into a Blessing,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
As we learned earlier this year in Genesis 34:24-30, and 49:5-7; Simeon and Levi were both cursed for their massacre of the men of Shechem, and scattered among the tribes of Israel.
When their faithfulness was put to the test again, in the matter of Israel’s rebellion of the golden calf at Mount Sinai (Exod. 32:26-29), “the entire tribe of Levi stood faithfully with Moses,” and for this faithfulness Levi “received a blessing from the Lord.”
The message in these two tribes is a message of the Power of Faithfulness.
Faithfulness will turn a Curse into a Blessing!
Both Simeon and Levi were scattered among Israel.
Simeon was eventually absorbed with Judah and lost their tribal identity as a result of the curse.
But Levi turned their curse into a blessing by their Faithfulness to God, loving Him Supremely; and were scattered among Israel as a Blessing.
The Ultimate Model of Turning a Curse into a Blessing was our Commander Jesus Christ.
He Turned the Curse of sin into the Blessing of Salvation for you and I by paying our sin debt with His Perfect Life as Son of Man - And Rising From The Dead To Live Forever As Our High Priest! Oh Hallelujah!
Let’s sing that chorus now:
“Because He lives I can face tomorrow
Because He lives all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives.”
And another great song:
“He paid a debt He did not owe
I owed a debt I could not pay
I needed someone, to wash my sins away
And now I sing a brand new song
Christ Jesus paid a debt that I could never pay.”
Oh Hallelujah Warrior! Our Commander and King Jesus Christ Turned a Curse Into A Blessing For You and I! Oooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
Jesus and Billy
