Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(1Samuel 9:15 - 10:27)
“Waiting On God for His Best”
Text: 1 Samuel 10:8
“You shall go down before me to Gilgal; and surely I will come down to you to offer burnt offerings and make sacrifices of peace offerings. Seven days you shall wait, till I come to you and show you what you should do.”
“Waiting on God for His Best,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
Samuel told Saul to Wait for 7 days for him to come and show him what he should do.
“Waiting on God for His Best,” demonstrates our submission to God and His Will for us. “We Rest in His Best,” by entering into His rest by Faith and Trust in Him. (Heb.4:9-10).
Saul would wait, Samuel would come; and show Saul what he should do.
It’s not easy to wait is it! It must have been hard for Saul to wait 7 days at Gilgal knowing he had just been anointed as king of Israel! But he waited because “he was small in his own eyes,” (1Sam.15:17), and submitted to God’s Will for his life.
Israel refused to wait for God’s Best because they were stubborn and wanted only to do “what is good in their own eyes.” By rejecting God as their King, they received a “flawed king for their flawed nation!” (1Sam.10:18-19).
When you and I refuse to wait for God’s Best, we will also receive “a flawed result for our flawed life” of disobedience.
God wants the Best for our Life, so we should also want the best for our life; even though it doesn’t appear to be the best!
We’ll see Saul get into trouble because he refused to wait; and this happened because he was “no longer small in his own eyes.”
