Good Morning Warrior!
It’s The Lord’s Day!
Word for the Day:
(2 Kings 11 & 12)
“Walking With Our Helper”
Text: 2Kings 12:2
“Jehoash did what was right in the sight of the LORD all the days in which Jehoiada the priest instructed him.”
“Walking With Our Helper,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
Jehoiada the priest was God’s Helper for Jehoash. In 2 Chronicles 22:11-12) we know that Jehoiada’s wife Jehosheba was the nurse that rescued Jehoash as a baby from his wicked mother and hid him for 6 years in a room. Jehoash was the sole surviving son, heir to the throne of King David; and God had a Helper to Care for and Instruct him in godliness!
As long as Jehoash listened to and obeyed his Helper “he did what was right in the sight of the Lord.”
In his later years, his Helper Jehoiada died and Jehoash listened to the leaders of Judah and left the house of God and served idols. He no longer listened to and obeyed the godly priests - God’s Helper’s. He no longer Walked With His Helper.
“Now after the death of Jehoiada the leaders of Judah came and bowed down to the king. And the king listened to them.
Therefore they left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served wooden images and idols; and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem because of their trespass.”(2Chron. 24:17-18).
Listen up Warrior! We have The Helper Holy Spirit, Who Will Never Die!
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever--
the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”(John 14:15-17,26).
Holy Spirit our Helperlives in and works in our heart continually; but we must Listen to Him and Obey Him. In other words we must Walk With Our Helper, in Agreement.
“Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?” (Amos 3:3).
We will do what is right in the sight of the Lord when we Walk With Our Helper, in Agreement.
