Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“We Give Because We Love”
Text: Exodus 36:6
“So Moses gave a commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, “Let neither man nor woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary.” And the people were restrained from bringing,”
“We Give Because We Love,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
The free-will offerings were so abundant that they were more than enough for the building of the Tabernacle. Everyone with a “willing heart” gave what they had, gold, silver, precious stones, time, talent, and skills; because they Loved God and His Work.
They had given so much that they “had to be restrained from bringing their offering.”
We Give Because We Love. We learned this from our Father God who said:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”(John 3:16-17)
And we learned this from our Commander and King Jesus Christ who gave His life for you and I “because He loves you and I ! Jesus told us:
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
You are My friends if you do whatever I command you”(John 15:13-14).
When we are in love no gift is too great. Jesus is Still Giving You and I freely all things pertaining to life and godliness:
“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”(2Pet.1:2-4).
The Macedonian Church gave “out of their deep poverty,” because of their Love for God and His Work. They demonstrated Love by First Giving themselves to God, and then Giving themselves to God’s Work:
“Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia:
that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality.
For I bear witness that according to their ability, yes, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing,
imploring us with much urgency that we would receive the gift and the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God.”(2Corin.8:1-5).
We Give Because We Love God and We Love His Work! Oooooh Rah!
