Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Your God Will Be My God”
Text: Ruth 1:16
“But Ruth said:
“Entreat me not to leave you,
Or to turn back from following after you;
For wherever you go, I will go;
And wherever you lodge, I will lodge;
Your people shall be my people,
And your God, my God.”
“Your God Will Be My God” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
In this backdrop of the days of the Judges this drama of Naomi and her Moabite daughter Ruth takes place.
Naomi has lost her husband and both her sons, in the country of Moab, and in this desperate condition as a Widow with no children - Naomi is still trusting the Sovereignty of her God! Ruth saw this and was so impressed with Naomi’s life of faithfulness to her God through extreme hardship, that she says these words: “Your God Will Be My God! Ooooh Rah!
Listen up Warrior! Our Life as a Faithful Warrior, in good times and in perilous times; should inspire people to say: “I want what you have!” “Your God Will Be My God!”
Let us remember this as we face the challenges and perils of this world. Our Life of Faith, Trust, and Obedience to our Commander and King has Great Influence in the lives of others who see our behavior “in tough times!”
Our life of Faithfulness stands out among people in this world as a Light to Follow, and as a “salty Love” that makes others thirsty to drink the Living Water you and I drink every day……
Both Orpah and Ruth loved Naomi, but they both acted differently. Orpah loved Moab more that Naomi’s God, and Ruth loved the God of Naomi More than Moab, and left all she had in Moab to get what she wanted, the God of Naomi!
Don’t be discouraged when people acknowledge the wonders that God has done in your life, but then choose to remain in their sinful ways. Keep living Faithfully in Faith, Trust, and Obedience to Your Commander; for there are “Ruth’s” watching you, and reading the “living letter” of your life, every day.
“You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men;
clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.”(2Corin.3:2-3).
Plant the Seed of your life and testimony in the lives of others, water it with prayer, and God will bring a harvest of souls from your life of Faithfulness! (1Corin.3:6).
Oh how sweet these words are to our ears: “Your God Will Be My God!” May we hear these words frequently in our Journey from earth to glory! Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
Jesus and Billy
