The devastating civil war in Tigray caused a humanitarian crisis that left more than two million people dead and millions more without food or clean water. Hands of Hope Foundation International has helped more than 100,000 people affected by the crisis, with safe drinking water everyday.
Here is a review of some of our Water Development Projects in the Afar Region and the Tigrai Region of Northern Ethiopia:
Clean drinking water for an elementary and high school in Selekleka, Tigrai; and Water Purification, Water Pipeline, and Emergency Water Points for the town of Assayita, Afar Region.
Assayita Town, Afar Region:
HOHFI has donated a new motorcycle and 2 office desks to the local Water Resources Office in Assayita.
This donation to our partner, the Assayita Water Resources Office, is helping to develop their long-term sustainable safe drinking water projects for all the families in Assayita and the outlying remote areas of the Afar Region.
The motorcycle will assist them in reaching remote areas surrounding Assayita, accessing the needs of the people and engaging them in HOHFI activities.
