Who we are

Hands of Hope Foundation International (HOHFI) exists to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the people of Ethiopia and beyond. Founded by Billy and Muluyey Hall, our ministry was born out of a vision God gave Billy in 1980: to pray for the nations “as a father prays for his children.” That vision became reality when God called them back to Ethiopia in 2011, planting the seeds of what is now a thriving work of hope and transformation.

Our mission is simple but powerful: to BE the Hands of Hope of Jesus by bringing His light, His love, and His provision to the most unreached and desperate communities in the world. We do this by meeting immediate physical needs with food, clean water, and shelter, while also investing in long-term development projects such as safe water systems, affordable housing, health and sanitation, education, and economic opportunities.

Today, our water projects in Afar, Tigray, and Amhara supply safe drinking water to over 100,000 people every single day. Entire families and communities that once struggled to survive are now encountering dignity, stability, and the life-changing hope of the Gospel.

Hands of Hope is led by Billy Hall (Executive Director) and his wife, Mulu Hall (President), alongside trusted leaders such as Solomon G/Mariam Desta (Country Director in Ethiopia) and a board of seasoned pastors and ministry leaders. Together with our staff, volunteers, and faithful partners, we are committed to seeing lives changed and nations transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.

At the heart of everything we do is this conviction: every human being matters to God. When clean water flows, when shelter is built, when the Gospel is preached, the Kingdom of God becomes visible and hope takes root.

Our vision

Our vision is to see communities in Ethiopia and other developing nations transformed by the love of Jesus Christ. We aim to address the root issues of poverty by providing clean water, housing, health and sanitation, education, and economic development. By equipping local communities to discover the joy of self-sufficiency and then teaching others what they have learned, we believe the cycle of poverty can be broken and replaced with a culture of hope, dignity, and Kingdom impact.

The mission

Our mission is to BE the Hands of Hope of Jesus by bringing His light and love to the most unreached and desperate communities. We do this by meeting immediate needs through emergency relief and sustainable development projects, while also proclaiming the eternal hope found in Christ. Every well dug, every home built, and every family served is part of our calling to make the Kingdom of God visible in the earth — turning despair into hope and survival into flourishing.
